Lillian Brown is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre at Ripon College, where she oversees the acting and directing curriculum. With a diverse background in acting, movement, voicework, devising, and staged intimacy, Lillian brings a well-rounded approach to her work. In 2021, she studied with Anne Bogart and SITI Company, where she trained in Suzuki and Viewpoints technique. Lillian is also a certified intimacy director and an Assisting Faculty Member of Theatrical Intimacy Educators (TIE), where she received her diploma in 2024 as part of their Educator Advocate Program. Her professional focus is on creating theatrical experiences that emphasize both artistic exploration and ethical, safe practices for performers.

In addition to being an educator, she is also a freelance actor and solo performing artist. Her critically acclaimed solo show, The Oreo Complex, has received a Helen Hayes recommendation and many other positive reviews. Her solo show The Oreo Complex is a multi-disciplinary art experience exploring the politics of racial performance and the complexities of black identity.

Lillian’s work is deeply rooted in her passion for both creative expression and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where artists can explore and grow. She strives to blend artistry and ethics in everything she does, creating spaces that encourage dialogue, discovery, and respect.
